Become A Mentor

Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor!

We are looking for dynamic speakers, educators and mentors who are passionate about their crafts and enjoy helping others succeed to teach our high schoolers look and learn classes, hands on sessions, business workshops, leadership and team building skills.

The look & learn and hands on classes consist of a 2-4 hour experience, while business workshops are 1 hour each. 

Look and learn sessions are taught on Saturdays throughout the year, while the hands on classes and business workshops are taught during our Girlpreneur Beauty Camp in July.

We normally cap at 50 teens for our summer session, but in 2024, we are looking to enroll 75-100 teens who may or may not be currently enrolled in a cosmetology, nail, or aesthetic program.

We need experts willing to share their gifts (virtually for Saturday sessions or in person for camp) in the following areas: 

Volunteer (All 5 days) *not valid for virtual sessions

  • Social Media
  • Registration
  • Classroom assistant
  • Serve Lunch
  • Set up (to be done the day before Day 1) / Break Down (end of day 4)

Hands On Sessions: 

  • Intro to Hair Color
  • Natural Hair Blow Outs (Silk Press)
  • Natural Hair Styling (Protective Styling)
  • Natural Hair Styling (Locs & Loc Extensions)
  • Braiding (Beginner & Advanced)
  • Wig Making (Hand Sewn)
  • Wig Making (Machine Sewn)
  • Micro Link Installation
  • Tape In Extensions
  • K-Tip I- Tip Extensions
  • Lash Extensions
  • Waxing
  • Makeup/ Skincare
  • Nails

*Instructors are asked to teach 2 classes on hands on days. A morning session and an afternoon session. This allows more students the opportunity to switch and experience multiple classes in the day.

Business Workshops:

  • Business Marketing & Branding
  • Business Finances (Understanding Freelance finances)
  • Social Media Content
  • Team Building Exercises
  • Leadership Skills
  • Product Development (The steps to creating your first product.)

The summer camp is a 5 day event with hands on being days 1 -3 & day 4 will be the day for business workshops, and day 5 is dedicated to our 16+ teens wanting to compete for beauty school scholarships.

Camp Hours: All 5 days are 8am - 4pm with check in being at 7:30am and a 45 minute lunch break from 11:30- 12:15 every day.

Saturday Session Hours:  10am - 12pm 

Your specific class times will be given once your application has been approved.

(not valid for virtual sessions) If you are unable to stay for the entire day, we do require presenters to arrive 30 minutes prior to their class beginning to allow time for set up.

Note: This is an unpaid engagement. If travel is required, note that housing and accommodations are not provided, nor are travel expenses rendered. We will have an affiliate hotel that will allow you a special rate upon receipt of your signed contract. 

Educators & Mentors: Must be open to sharing your curriculum with Adrienne Small no later than one month before camp.
