18 year old Nakiya James was born & Raised in Memphis, TN and is a graduate of Olive Branch High School. As a 4 year member and title holder of DECA, NaKiya used her opportunities to collaborate with emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges across the globe! Nakiya's strong passion for the beauty industry led her to The High School Edition of Beyond The Chair Symposium, where she earned the GRAND PRIZE for presenting the best pitch for her business!
Owner of Royalty Lashes & KiJStyles, Nakiya will be able to expand her businesses with the prizes she obtained during BTC: The High School Edition.
Her prizes included a FULL scholarship to the Institute of Beauty, a branding photo shoot with Marcus D Porter Studios, and has now become an official brand ambassador for the Girlpreneur brand.
We are so excited to be able to mentor Nakiya and watch her and her brand grow!
Lauryn Clarke Davis is a 17 year old senior at Middle College High School. Since a young age, owning her own business was her goal and Clarke Cosmetics was her vision. Clarke Cosmetics is a line dedicated to making beauty unproblematic. The inspiration behind Clarke Cosmetics is affordable, pigmented, fun, quality, and easy makeup.
Lauryn's goal for Clarke Cosmetics include creating a store front similar to Ulta and Sephora filled with Clarke Cosmetics and building a successful brand based off morals, quality, and happiness!
Her Prizes included a $2500 beauty school scholarship, $1,500 Branding Package ( Logo Design, 1 page website design, Business Card design, & Branding templates), branding photo shoot with Marcus D Porter Studios, and a 2 page spread in Hair Color Concepts Magazine.
